Lumpenthology: Adventure City ( August 4, 2006 ) @ Heaven gallery , Manifest Arts< Myles's loft on Clybourne
Poster by: Logan Bay

In the summer of 2006 we finally left [ Buddy] and the last nights there were full of destruction and chaotic bliss. Our landlord was angry. The Lumpenthology: Adventure City show was to be one of the last major events we did in the building.

We still had allies in the Lubinski Furniture building where Buddy was located and we asked Dave Dobie of Heaven Gallery to host the Lumpen 100th Issue release show. A few days before the show was to open Dave was threatened by our former landlord with eviction. So we moved the show to Manifest Arts, run by a bunch of nice guys who started a space in the Congress Theater building. We also rented a space 3 doors down from them for an after party featuring performances by Water Babies, Seoul Man Gene Lee, Warhammer 48K, Aleks and the Drummer, Miraj, and other special guests.

We opened the gallery show, but the police shut down our after party venue. We miraculously moved it to a loft on Clybourn used by our friend Myles. The show was pretty sweet. It got hot crowded and intense. But then there was a fight, the police came again. It was a fitting end of an era for us.

The exhibition featured the work of:
Bridgette Buckley, Phoebe Fischer, Joel Bruner, Kelly Noah, Elisa Harkins, Logan Bay, Rachael Olson, Olivia uigue, Steven Eichorn, Jessica Paulson, Greg Stimac, Michael Merck, Brian Ulrich, Mike Slattery, Nick Black, Michael Gumhold, Mr Thor and friends, Ryan Davies, Randall Bailey, Erik DeBat "RISK, Kingdom Kilpatrick, Michael Mills.

Mr Thor's installation remained at Heaven. Photo below:
